In 2021, we'll open the doors to Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital: The City of London's only independent hospital, situated next to St Bartholomew's NHS hospital, Nuffield Health at St Barts will be our flagship centre for cardiac services and will also provide a full range of surgical and medical services, including: orthopaedics, oncology, general surgery, gynaecology and urology surgery. The new hospital will consist of: * 48 inpatient and day case bedrooms * 28 consultation rooms * Three digital operating theatres * Cardiac catheterisation lab * Specialist intensive care beds * Oncology day unit * Endoscopy and minor ops theatre * Full diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and general X-ray The person: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Imaging manager to join our brand new team in London. Operationally responsible for the staffing and service of both the Cardiac Catheter Lab and the General Imaging department within the new hospital you'll enjoy the chance to make a real difference with Nuffield Health. We'll expect you to actively contribute to service development, policies and strategies, and also help prepare the hospital to open in 2021. Once the hospital is operational, you will support the Hospital Management team to deliver high quality, clinically effective patient care through efficient management of staff and resources . Along the way, you'll build strong relationships with hospital senior leaders, a wide range of healthcare professionals and, of course, the consultants. Key Responsibilities: The Cardiac Imaging & Diagnostics Manager will: * Ensure that high quality, responsive Cardiac & Diagnostic Imaging services are delivered to meet the needs of all customers and the business * Recruit and retain high calibre staff within the department maintaining a staff complement which demonstrably ensures optimum patient care and safety while meeting the business needs * Be responsible for effective and regulatory compliant Radiation Safety Management in the department(s) * Implement, maintain and oversee a comprehensive Clinical Governance programme including the setting and maintenance of clinical standards and implementation of clinical audit * Provide leadership and direction to a multi-disciplinary team * Manage and motivate the operational team by promoting an open learning environment, encouraging acceptance to change, initiating and promoting innovation through empowerment * Create, maintain and encourage excellent relations with all key customers including consultants and other clinical professionals * Be an advocate of high customer care standards and create a positive and proactive approach to customer service through the operational team * Encourage and maintain an open and participative culture, fostering a supportive environment for staff and consultants ensuring excellent communication and motivation * Ensure departmental meetings take place and communication is cascaded effectively * Ensure equipment and services are purchased to meet hospital requirements, in line with policies and procedures. * Define, agree and ensure the achievement of departmental objectives and target inventory levels * Ensure departmental compliance with policies, standards and procedures * Develop and maintain cooperative, professional relationships with Radiologists & Cardiologists ensuring clinical expertise matches the specialties of the Hospital and referring clinician needs * Act professionally within the standard and framework provided by the HCPC and College of Radiographers 'Code of Professional Conduct'. * Maintain active registration with the HCPC Experience, Knowledge and Expertise required: * Degree in Diagnostic Radiography with evidence of relative post grad study * Management experience & budgetary responsibility experience within a multi-modality imaging department including interventional imaging / cardiac catheter lab * Manage the commissioning, procuring and monitoring of services within the new hospital * An outstanding and experienced natural leader who is also a team player * IT familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Ability to lead motivates, support and develop employees to maximise contribution to business goals and objectives * A confident decision maker who can make sound business decis
