Highway Contracts Manager - London Our Client, a large Civil Engineering Subcontractor , is looking for a Contracts Manager to develop their team and client relationships to increase the turnover and probability of the business. This is a permanent role The successful Candidate will lead and motivate the contract team (including supply chain service providers), develop and implement business strategy and will achieve the agreed safety, financial, commercial, growth, and Client performance targets. Tasks/Responsibilities: Client * First point of contact for the Client's Service Manager. * To provide a performance driven service meeting and exceeding all contract performance measures. * Ensure Company's commitment to initiatives such as "Aiming for Zero" road worker safety strategy. * Overall responsibilities for service delivery - ensuring client requirements are met through the development of the business strategy/plan and core processes. * To build and maintain key client relationships based on a partnership approach and promote a client focused culture throughout the commission. * Position the Company as the provider of choice and highest ranking through service delivery audits as an enabler to convince other employers to join. Commercial * To assume financial accountability and delivery * Extensive experience of managing supply chain partnership arrangements. * To assume financial accountability and delivery of the Budget and Outputs. * To undertake business planning and commercial/risk management in line with Corporate and Client requirements. People * To ensure compliance with statutory and corporate requirements with a particular focus on Safety, Health and Environmental management and Quality systems. * To champion Safety, Health & Environment and promote a culture of innovation. * To lead, manage, motivate and develop staff to improve their performance and achieve their potential, including clear succession planning and appraisals. * Establish clear lines of communication through the team, defining roles and responsibilities in order to ensure efficient use of resources. Skills/Experience: * Proven leadership and strong people management skills with an ability to develop integrated team working. * Previous experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team is essential. * Broad knowledge of Borough Road Network Management is essential. * Business acumen - able to demonstrate significant improvements in efficiencies/ costs in previous roles. * Professional approach and effective role model for the Company's values and culture. * Client focussed and able to demonstrate evidence of successful partnering activities. * Experience of consulting engineering, blue collar contracting organisations and negotiating with trade unions effectively where required. * Able to demonstrate development of an innovative business culture and delivery of successful business improvement initiatives. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will... You will have a Highways and Civil Engineering background and a strong understanding of the NEC (A and B, E would be advantageous) and JCT contracts. We are after a Highway Contracts Manager that is a team player and is able to lead from the front. This permanent role based in London with a salary of £60,000 per annum .
