We are recruiting for an Account Director for Local Authorities - Highways and Transportation to join our national Highways Business with a focus on our high-growth Local Authority market. About The Team: The Highways sector is one of Arcadis' core markets, a position it has held throughout our 150 year history, and we pride ourselves on delivering new and exciting solutions for transportation infrastructure design and construction schemes. Our Highways team is involved in some of the UK's most high profile, complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of some of the UK's and indeed the world's most prestigious and challenging projects. Our current client portfolio includes the Department of Transport, Transport for Scotland, Highways England, Transport for London, County, City, District and Borough Councils, Civil Engineering Contractors and International Governments, for whom we undertake the planning, design and supervision of civil engineering and transport solutions to exceed our client's requirements. Job Description Arcadis Infrastructure Business is works collaboratively with many of the UK's national and local infrastructure providers. Our shared ambition is to improve the quality of life for everyone by tailoring highways and transportation solutions to the specific requirements of our clients. Our Local Authority portfolio has been identified as a major growth sector for our UK business with our UK Leadership Team at the forefront of an exciting sector focused strategy. We require proven Local Authority sector leader to join our national team and help shape our approach, drive high quality engagement with our key clients and lead the development of meaningful value propositions. Working in collaboration with our Highways Leadership Team and across multi-disciplinary business lines, we are seeking an individual with passion and ambition to make a difference to our business and clients. Accountabilities Within the Arcadis UK Highways business, the role is accountable for: * Leading relationships and enhancing Arcadis brand and reputation across the Local Authority sector * The Net Revenue sales target (or an agreed subset) of the local authority client account(s) * Developing and implementing Client Account Plan(s) in line with Arcadis UK business objectives to drive growth * Developing and implementing account plans for targeted local accounts and growing target accounts (revenue, bookings and margin) to meet or exceed planned targets * Developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of target clients, market trends and emerging opportunities for Arcadis UK * Develop and leverage a network of enduring client relationships senior and technical management level and with strategic buyers in established and target clients * Contributing to mining/farming plans and business development in the major, established local authority clients in the region * Leading key pursuits, with support from the relevant Business Lines / Units * In collaboration the relevant Business Lines / Units, ensuring rigorous Go/No Go's, client account planning and client Requirements Within the Arcadis UK Highways business, the requirement of the role is to: * Work collaboratively with the other Local Authority account teams to create and sustain a shared picture of the market, trends in buying behaviours and opportunities. * Bring genuine market insight and intelligence to inform strategic pursuits and the wider business strategy for Arcadis Highways and Arcadis UK * Work collaboratively with Value Proposition Leaders to manage the targeting and tailoring of Arcadis value propositions into commercially viable propositions for the Local Government market; and support the development of new commercial models * Demonstrate a track record of leading successful pursuits for opportunities in excess of 2m (total contract value) including early engagement, leading pursuits and mob
