The role of the Financial Services (FS) Compliance team is to ensure that BT conducts its business in full compliance with all applicable national and international laws and regulations, as well as internal codes of conduct, policies, standards and procedures. As Financial Services Compliance Senior Manager (Monitoring) you will be charged with delivering a comprehensive and ongoing FS compliance monitoring programme across pan BT compliance controls to ensure BT remains compliant, calling out risks and concerns regarding the effectiveness of the appropriate BT controls and areas for improvement. You will play a pivotal role in highlighting the performance of FS controls within the business and advising on required improvement and remediation. You must have experience of working in the FS sector ideally in a consumer credit environment. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of FCA regulations and in particular those that govern consumer credit and payment services activities. **You'll have the following responsibilities** + Recommends to the Financial Services Compliance Director the assurance/ monitoring approach and runs its implementation + The FS Compliance Monitoring approach, it's development, delivery and associated assignment, completion and effectiveness assurance activities. Monitoring to cover: Responsible Lending; Collections & Forbearance; Treating Customers Fairly; Arrear Management; Complaints Handling; Vulnerable Customers; Outsourcing Arrangements; Training and Competency + Drives and oversees Thematic Reviews to identify gaps in Systems and Controls + Strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, working with them to independently identify FS compliance risks and to advise on and assure that effective controls are in place to mitigate these so that FS regulatory thresholds are not breached. Monitor changes and report to audit and risk committees + Input to the production of papers for quarterly ARCs and other governance committees + Keeping knowledge of your specialism current and for providing forward looking insights/ thought -leadership and outside in thinking + Calling out Project Denver (Consumer & Enterprise) FS compliance risks with senior leaders pan BT; challenging thinking and holding the business to account + Recommends and inputs into the design, monitoring of, testing and reporting on effectiveness of controls via a programme of robust assurance and awareness activity + Providing specialist advice on Monitoring as well as coaching, communications and training events to high risk communities, to enhance first line knowledge of relevant regulatory compliance. And provide training on how to conduct assurance and correct reporting activities + Drives the initiatives underpinning the RCA goals and objectivesProviding compliance advice, coaching and mentoring to members of the ethics and compliance team - as well as across the RCA community - sharing timely, insightful feedback to improve performance + In collaboration with the RCA Operations team and Group Risk team for measurement and reporting approaches + Drives the implementation of governance and reporting mechanism for FS compliance first and second line of defence + Drives the monitoring and reporting for FS compliance second line assurance **You'll have the following skills & experience** + Expert functional knowledge of FCA and CCA + Extensive Governance/controls experience and knowledge + Recognised compliance qualification (ICA etc) or demonstration of working towards one + Preferably experience in consumer facing industries operating consumer credit Experience of managing/conducting assurance activities + Transformation or change management experience Capabilities Required for this Role + Data analytics - Prioritises the importance of data and champions the use of analytics capabilities to make strategic decisions and measure what matters + Be tech savvy - Is up to date on emerging technologies and their benefit to BT & encourages and facilitates organisational dialogue on technology, strategy and the customer + Be agile - Sponsors an agile approach, welcoming disruptive thinking and delivering pan BT market leading propositions with speed + Give specialist advice - Demonstrates expertise drawing from experience to evaluate commercial solutions and provide advice at the highest level in the business + Be creative - Maintains and encourages optimism, creativity and curiosi
