Overview This is a vital, high-profile role where you will provide credit oversight for new wholesale transactions with independent electricity and gas suppliers in the UK ("SETSA customers"). In addition, you will work closely with our industrial and commercial teams to help maximize Retail business opportunities by reducing credit risks safely. In this role, you will be involved with the following: Structured * Assess and judge the creditworthiness of SETSA customers and prospects based on financial analysis; * Provide and manage the ongoing monitoring and reporting on the financial / credit performance of SETSA customers, which will Include monitoring hedged energy positions and total exposures and enacting margin or other forms of security calls where required; * Support in the creation, management and ongoing development of a Credit Risk Framework in respect of SETSA customers that includes the reporting, governance and pricing of the credit risks; * Engage proactively with commercial and sales colleagues to support the structuring of credit solutions for new and revised transactions, in particular the structuring of appropriate credit and financial arrangements along with the internal approvals and stakeholder engagement; * Ensure all contracts comply with the Credit Policy and the business is protected as far as possible from credit risk events; * Provide support to customer facing teams in new business, customer and stakeholder meetings in respect of complex credit queries, assessments and structures. Retail * Ensure all retail contracts comply with the Credit Policy and the business is protected as far as possible from credit risk events; * Ensure the business contracts with credit worthy customers that meet the internal criteria laid down for credit approval; * Ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the Credit Policy, Credit Insurance Policy and any other relevant policies and rules; * Ensure that the internal scoring model is effective and supports the internal credit approval process; * Develop the working relationship with our Credit Insurer; * Work with an insurance broker to negotiate the best terms including insurance premium rate, and monitor and review in accurate the "insured" turnover on a quarterly basis * Monitor the credit status of Demanding Portfolios closely to ensure that they satisfy the Portfolio Credit Risk Methodology; To be successful, you are likely to have the following skills/experience: * Significant credit experience relating to retail and structured credit, energy and finance transactions; * Knowledge of the Credit Risk Analysis; * Understand the General Trading Terms; * Understanding of the UK energy market; * Familiarity with Credit assessment.
