Functional Area: IN - Investment Estimated Travel Percentage (%): Up to 25% Relocation Provided: No AIG Asset Management (Europe) Limited Your future team Based in London, you will work in the Credit Research team within the Public Credit division of AIG Investments' Fixed Income business. Your contribution at AIG The core responsibilities of the Credit Research Analyst role include: * Primary coverage of the European Utilities sector. The coverage will focus on electric, gas and water utilities across Europe. Primarily focused on Investment Grade issuers but could also include coverage of some High Yield credits. In addition to the core Utilities coverage the responsibilities may in time be expanded to include coverage of other sectors. * Fundamental credit analysis. Evaluate sector and issuer creditworthiness and the key trends impacting financial performance and credit ratings in the sector. Identify key risks to company credit profiles early in order to protect the portfolios from credit losses. Assess the relative strengths and weaknesses in issuer bond documentation. Build and maintain financial models for the credits under coverage to forecast cash flow and balance sheet trends and the trajectory of key credit metrics. * Relative value analysis. Apply relative value skill-set to make value-adding investment recommendations that help drive portfolio outperformance, supported by detailed, well-articulated analysis. * Communicate effectively to ensure that all relevant credit analysis and investment recommendations are shared with portfolio managers, traders, senior management and risk management, as appropriate, in a timely and efficient manner. * Contribute to ad-hoc projects or initiatives as required in support of team objectives. What we are looking for * Prior experience covering the European Utilities sector and a solid understanding of the regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions. * Strong fundamental credit analysis skills, including understanding of financial models, credit metrics, capital structures and corporate bond documentation. * Familiarity with Fixed Income markets and experience of assessing credit relative value. * Highly proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other relevant systems. * CFA Charterholder, or prepared to work towards CFA qualification.
