Isotropic is seeking a highly experienced Telecommunication Systems Engineer to create, own and manage all aspects of the detailed system modeling and analysis for a range of innovative end-user terminals for satellite communications. Reporting to the Director of Systems Engineering and working closely with peers across other engineering disciplines, the successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of satellite or related communication system end-to-end modelling. A key business need will be the analysis and dissemination of product requirements into system and subsystem specifications from RF to baseband. A strong good understanding of overall Satcom communications terminal requirements is essential formed from directly relevant industry experience. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in analysing and simulating complex communication systems, with strong independent technical capability. The Telecommunication Systems Engineer is expected to bring a high degree of creativity and problem-solving capability to search outside the box for new solutions to questions in the design, assembly, and mass production of a cost-effective Satcom terminal. In addition, technical leadership is expected in the areas of analysis of complex antenna systems for all-electronic antenna systems and motion-controlled stabilised platforms, and monitoring and maintaining trends of performance across multiple product lines and customer development projects. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Create, own, and manage detailed end-to-end Satcom Link Simulation * Coordinate and interface with all subsystem design owners to understand, capture, and analyse the critical performance specifications across the system * Integrate and link all subsystem specifications into a full system model * Decompose system level requirements into subsystem requirements through top-down and bottom-up analysis * Analyze link parameters and their effect on system performance such as: platform dynamics, pointing/tracking, orbital modelling, and satellite handovers. * Coordinate with design, integration and test teams to ensure the successful interoperation of all subsystems including RF, beam tracking and control, modem integration and interfaces, signal processing, mechanical, packaging, environmental, thermal management, and reliability For the right candidate, with the right talent and motivation, we are offering this role a once in lifetime opportunity for wealth creation through a fantastic stock option package combined with many opportunities for career progression. Requirements Essential Skills and/or Experience Needed: * BS or MS in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline * 7+ years of experience in the fields of Telecommunication Engineering for satellite and/or terrestrial communications hardware and terminals. * Proficiency in Matlab, Simulink, SystemVue, Python or similar * Experience in detailed simulations of communication theory and signal processing towards the development of complex systems including modulation, RF cascade, signal impairments, sampling, etc. * Knowledge of Satcom networks and protocols * Experienced in writing design and performance reports and summaries * Technically proficient in MS Office products Not essential but highly desirable skills: * Direct working experience in Phased array, Flat Panel or Electronically Scanned Antennas * A detailed working knowledge of HTS and VHTS systems in operation and construction within the satellite industry * A thorough knowledge of satellite communication link budget and maximised performance between modem and antenna technologies.
