Isotropic is seeking an experienced Senior DSP Engineer to lead the algorithm development and design of the digital signal processes path. The role will take ownership of key architecture decisions as well as algorithm analysis and implementation through the various simulation phases. The candidate will be responsible for defining the SW/HW partition and will lead the simulation environment definitions and implementations. The successful candidate will have digital communication system design experience from initial stage definitions to product release with a solid understanding of the DSP concepts/architectures, digital design details, and trade-offs around digital communication receivers and transmitters. The successful candidate will proactively apply critical thinking skills to identify potential problems and solutions that others might miss. They will aggressively pursue challenging goals, make accurate key decisions, and strive for excellence with minimal oversight. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities * Analyse and specify system requirements and derive architectural options * Propose algorithmic solutions to address the technical requirements * Lead the algorithm analysis and implementation throughout the various simulation phases (Floating point, fixed point , CoSim with RTL) * Define the algorithms SW/HW partition * Lead the simulation environment definitions and implementation in Matlab * Participate in the testing activities at full system level * Participate in discussions regarding technology development roadmaps Requirements * BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Electrical, Communications, Microwave, or related engineering discipline * 5+ years of experience in DSP development * 5+ years of industry experience in designing signal processing or communications (modem) products * Experience in algorithmic design of digital signal processing data path, preferably modems * Design experience from initial stage definitions to product release with a solid understanding of the design details, trade-offs, and alternatives of at least one of the following topics: image processing, digital receivers, or digital transmitters * Familiarity with MATLAB, RTL/Verilog Advantage, and Python scripting Other Abilities * Background in phased array development highly desirable * Background in satcom terminal design and commercialization highly desirable * Ability to communicate calmly in a well thought out response, verbal and written * Interpersonal skills to effectively work with Isotropic staff internally as well as working effectively with suppliers and customers * Ability to effectively present information in team meetings and design reviews as needed * Ability to travel on request (not expected to exceed 20%).
