Job Description
The Dragonfly Unit is a 12 bedded inpatient facility at Carlton Court, Lowestoft, offering services to young people aged 12 to 18 with mental health difficulties who cannot be supported in the community. Our children and young people's service opened in September 2016 and has been rated "Outstanding" by the CQC for the last 3 years. It was developed as a centre of excellence so that NSFT can provide more specialist care closer to home, reducing the number of young people who need to receive treatment out of their area. The facility has ensuite bedrooms, on-site education provision, a gym, an ADLs kitchen and an art room. The young people and their families and carers are supported by a multi-disciplinary team of medical, nursing, therapeutic and support staff. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with enthusiasm and creativity to cover maternity leave on a 12month fixed term contract. The position is for 22.5 hours a week working over 3 days. You will work alongside the senior occupational therapist and technical instructor in delivering therapeutic interventions to our young people. This can be either on an individual or group basis, both on-site and in the community. This role will include liaison with community teams to create a plan around transition and discharge back to their care. You will be expected to work as part of the multi-disciplinary team contributing to formulation and delivery of care for the young people.
