Amazon seeks a Commercial Finance Business Partner to support our Print on Demand (POD) books business in the EU on a fixed term contract as maternity cover for a current employee. The position is part of our growing Digital Content Finance organisation and has the flexibility to be based out of either of Amazon's Luxembourg, London or Munich offices. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key finance partner in an innovative and rapidly evolving business at Amazon. People who love books and numbers(!), who can think critically, and who will use their financial acumen to help drive our Books business to be the best place for both authors and readers. This is a rare opportunity to work across multiple components of the P&L, to challenge assumptions and drive change within a nimble business unit. In this role you will have financial ownership of the Print on Demand (POD) books business in the EU. You will work cross-functionally and cross-geography with our business teams with the unique opportunity to act as the 'Finance Controller' of a business unit that focuses on both manufacturing and retail excellence. You will work with our other worldwide POD finance teams, and EU Operations Finance team to establish best in class processes, analytics and controls. You will also act as a primary finance point of contact for our Kindle Direct Publishing business owners in Europe. The role is very broad based and will require someone who is motivated to make a big impact, and has ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role also has regular interaction with senior executives and various stakeholders across Amazon, and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. As business partner to the POD and EU Books leadership teams, you will help to drive business strategy, implement core financial processes, and own key growth and profitability projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic and multicultural environment. This role is a fixed term contract that will run from May 2020 to February 2021. We welcome applicants from both inside and outside Amazon. Primary responsibilities include: POD P&L ownership - analysis of the financial outputs, connecting them with the underlying input drivers and translating them into insights to inform and execute business decisions. Partnering with business leaders, subject matter experts, accounting, inventory and operations teams to provide analytics, strategic guidance and decision support to senior executives on the key 2020 initiatives Tracking business performance against goals and leading goal reviews with senior management; developing and implementing policies and programs to maintain and improve profitability. Facilitating financial reviews, performing analysis on weekly, monthly and quarterly results. Finding opportunities to improve and simplify these processes. Supervision of planning and reporting processes for the business, in line with Amazon planning/reporting cycles. Facilitating financial reviews, performing analysis on the monthly results, leading quarterly and yearly forecasting for EU POD. Project ownership, working with business partners to deliver projects such as new product launches, innovations, and customer analysis that help us better serve Amazon's customers. Partnering with EU/US Finance teams on WW finance-specific deliverables and projects. Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
