Job Description

As a UX Designer at Close Brothers you will be part of a centralised design team, with a primary focus on our Motor Finance business. Our goal is to be the UK's leading finance partner to motor dealers by supporting them to help customers buy the vehicle they want. For customers, the goal is to make the financing process as simple and easy as possible. You will play a key role in bringing digital services and insights to customers and motor dealers to achieve these goals. Your role will be to develop concepts and design digital services and communications for our customers, partners and employees. By applying creative thinking to challenge the status quo and explore possibilities, you will be bringing together the user needs, business goals and technical realities. Key Responsibilities: Leverage insight to inform the business and drive design decisions * Lead user and service research to; gather insight, test new concepts, identify areas to optimise the design of services, and to justify design decisions. * Utilise digital analytics to monitor the performance and identify target improvements to digital services, in line with business objectives. * Create research artefacts to effectively communicate findings within a project team and the wider business. * Facilitate design thinking workshops with target users and the business to support, validate and drive design decisions. Practice insight led design to drive the design of new and existing digital services * Work independently or as part of a larger team to scope, brief and deliver the design of new and enhancements to existing digital services. * Use user centred design methods to evaluate and drive the evolution of digital services and our touchpoints with customers and partners. * Interrogate user needs and insight to outline the information architecture, content structure, and functionality required to meet the user and business objectives. * Use creative flair to translate concepts into production ready interface designs, leveraging design patterns, standards and brand cues. * Effectively communicate design of new digital services to support product development, customer testing and playback to key stakeholders. Collaborate with development teams to effectively transitions designs into production * Document your design process and the artefacts of, so they can smoothly transition into a development team. * Collaborate with development teams to understand the technical realities of a solution to ensure designs are feasible within the scope of a project. * Work closely with co-located and remote development teams to ensure that design specifications are understood and implemented correctly. Embed digital design standards, methods and governance * Drive the adoption of design standards ensuring our digital channels are highly usable, accessible and web optimised. * Support the evolution of the Design System through creating new and refining existing design patterns. Help to grow the prominence of design within the business * Champion a culture of design across the bank. Educate colleagues, executives, sponsors and peers about the design process and our initiatives at Close Brothers, thus growing the prominence and importance of user-centred design. * Prepare and present outputs of design work across the bank to support new initiatives, represent the team at Customer Forums, and demonstrate the value we're driving across the bank.
