Job Description

The role The Network Engineer is responsible for operating VICE's internal network reliably and at scale. As a critical member of the Networking team, you have a direct impact on design and feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly. You also ensure that network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring network performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues. VICE's complex network generates a constant stream of challenges which require you to continually be innovative with an evolving set of technologies. Keeping the network reliable ensures that our users stay connected with our suite of applications, products and services. You'll have responsibilities over the technology life-cycle of network infrastructure for VICE, focusing on delivering and managing the network reliability and uptime. You will participate in an on-call schedule with other members of the team providing third-tier support and solving complex challenges as they arise. Primary Responsibilities * Deliver network infrastructure to VICE offices to support their on-premises compute needs * Manage the full technology life-cycle, conducting end-to-end activities (i.e. requirements gathering, equipment qualification, network design, process planning, implementation, and expert support) * Utilise coding skills to automate workflows (e.g. provisioning, operations, design integrity) * Use technical judgement to drive project delivery and technology reviews * Contribute to initiatives across all technical verticals Skills & Experience * Experience in implementing and/or supporting large/wide area networks and experience with network change-management control policies * Experience with network security, wireless, data-centre, core network or virtualisation in a global environment running at scale * Experience with modern tools and coding to drive efficiencies through automation * Demonstrated experience defining system and/or process requirements, building, integrating, and/or delivering large-scale network systems * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy operations environment and work towards strategic business goals * Strong knowledge troubleshooting Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 issues * Knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, SDWAN, Multicast Routing protocols,DHCP, and DNS * Experience with Cisco (Routing, L3 and L2 switching) * Experience with Palo Alto Physical and Virtual Security Appliances * Experience AWS or Similar Cloud provider networking infrastructure Additional Requirements (nice to have) * CCNP certification or better * Experience with Dell SonicWall security appliances * Experience with Aruba/HPE (Routing, L3 and L2 switching) * Experience with NAC solutions (ISE, ClearPass, FortiNAC)
