Job Description

Job Title: DWDM Network Planner Location: Copenhagen, Gothenburg or London Overall Purpose : Responsible for forecasting, capacity planning and ugmenting across Telia Carrier's Optical Transmission Network. Designs, develops, implements and maintains short-term and long-term solutions to meet customer demand ahead of time. Manages the delivery of contracted services to customer to ensure that SLAs (service level agreements) and KPI (key performance indicators) as defined in the relevant contracts are met or exceeded. Additionally, have responsibility for Capex management and governance including the creation and business approval for Quarterly/yearly capital spend. Strong knowledge/understanding of the telecommunication landscape and competition. Knowledge and understanding of telecommunications Optical network architecture/design/development. Ability to work in cross-functional development organization with engineers, project managers, field operations personnel, data analysts, financial analyst and others. Principle Responsibilities: Identify network expansion/new market development opportunities regions. Interface with and understand opportunities and requirements of Internal and External Customers. Build all-encompassing designs including DWDM link budget, DCM planning etc. and write low level designs. Build both strategic and tactical plans to convert Product unit and Sales forecasts into deployment growth for the optical transport network. Manage short and long-term Transport Network capacity plans, through agreed repeatable processes. Use forecasting models to help build future growth plans. Work very closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure appropriate solutions are provided to support the business needs. Produce long term strategic plans for growth and expansion. Collaborate with Network Engineering to optimize network utilization minimizing capital investment Geographical Responsibility: Europe Working Relationships: Product, Architecture and Engineering, DWDM Implementation, Sales, Suppliers, Infrastructure Qualifications / Experience required: 7+ years' experience of working in a telecommunications company responsible for Optical Networks. Ability to demonstrate experience of Planning across several Optical Transmission Products and technologies. Proven ability to accurately control, track, forecast budget spend. Anticipates customer needs/expectations through engagement in R&D and predicted industry/product offerings Experience at interfacing with vendors/suppliers. Solid understanding of Planning principles for next generation Transport services. Knowledge of at least one data modelling programming language and being able to use it for forecasting. e.g. SQL/Python/R-Studio
