You will support and assist others to implement evidenced based/quality psychological interventions as well as driving service transformation and change and supporting colleagues, adhering to and delivering on differing interventions drawing on different theoretical bases. You will be accountable for ensuring Rossie's psychological and wellbeing services are delivered in an ethical and professional manner, in line with the Health Professional Council (HCPC) Standards of Proficiency, the HCPC Standards of Performance and Ethics, and the British Psychological Services (BPS) Code of Ethics and Conduct. JOB DESCRIPTION: To undertake the lead on psychology services and undertake Operational Manager tasks within Rossie with respect to delivery and development of services. Responsibility for managing the day to day provision of expert, comprehensive, highly specialist psychological services delivered by the Specialist Intervention Services for young people with complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and who pose a risk to themselves and others. Provide a service to young people within Rossie and on a limited outreach basis, and provide expert, comprehensive, highly specialist psychological services to colleagues and commissioning health and social care services to young people. Duties will include autonomous assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a range of clinical and forensic problems. You will undertake activities of research, audit, service evaluation, teaching and training, and be required to supervise Doctoral Trainee Clinical Psychologists and provide advice and consultation on psychological care to other professionals, carers and families. 1. Oversight and provision of psychological and wellbeing services to young people: a) To provide consultation to professionals and young people regarding psychological and risk assessment/management, formulation and intervention; b) To provide specialist psychological assessments of young people based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with young people, family members and others involved in the young person's care; c) To provide assessment and treatment as individuals or in a group; d) To formulate and implement plans for formal individualised psychological treatment and management of young people based on appropriate conceptual frameworks, an expert and comprehensive knowledge of highly specialised psychological treatment methods and employing methods of proven efficacy across full range of care settings including secure and residential care and limited outreach work. A key psychological model to guide practice is Positive Behavioural Support; e) To work as part of a multidisciplinary team; f) To assess and review the emotional wellbeing of the young people in consultation with the young person and key people in their life in order to inform the next stage of their care plan taking into consideration aspects of risk and trauma; g) To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of the young people's psychological problems including developmental background, interpersonal patterns of relating and offending behaviour. These plans will be based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the young person's problems and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings; h) To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for young people, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models; i) To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the young person, family or group; j) To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment,
