Job Description
Developing new client/agency relations through face to face meetings to increase new business sales. The active servicing and on-going development of existing clients and advertising agency relationships. To utilise sales skills in meetings to sell classified advertising solutions and convert leads into new business. Achieving set targets individually and as a team/ department. Adhere to the CSF performance system in place within the Department. * To actively source and develop new business leads both face to face and over the phone. * To volunteer appropriate product information, packages promotions and any other associated service both face to face and over the phone. * To give advice on all aspects of advertising. * To sell the benefits of our products and overcome objections in a positive and professional manner. * To develop long term business relationships in an appropriate manner. * To make and attend the required number of weekly/monthly appointments and attend other relevant meetings and industry events when appropriate. Some may be outside normal working hours. * To present using appropriate technology to groups or individuals as and when necessary. * To be fully market focused at all times. * To liaise with Telephone Sales Executives as and when appropriate and to ensure they are provided with all relevant client and agency information. * To assist colleagues and provide cover as and when required. * To utilise competitive media and search out appropriate advertising leads to sell into the relevant classified products. * To pro-actively convert enquiries into advertisements or follow up by further advising the client face to face. * To be aware of all competitive media and ensure information is up to date and relevant. * To gain testimonial feedback from advertisers. * To produce and maintain clear and accurate documentation and reports from appointments and meetings and circulate them as appropriate. * To maintain accurate client and advertising agency records. * To liaise with external suppliers and internal departments as necessary. * To attend and participate in team meetings, training sessions and coaching as appropriate. * To contribute ideas for new features and/or classifications. * To adhere to department standards at all times. * To undertake ad-hoc duties as and when directed by the Senior Management & Category Sales Manager. * Motivation & drive Tackle demanding tasks and set and exceed challenging personal targets. * Planning & organising Organise own time effectively. Prioritise and prepare in advance. Pre-empt problems. Confident working under pressure and working to tight deadlines both over the phone and face to face. * Relationship building Quickly build rapport and easily establish relationships with internal and external customers. * Communication - oral & written Express ideas clearly, adapting to the needs of the audience. Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain an acceptance of an idea or product from clientele. * Commercial awareness & knowledge building Demonstrate knowledge of the market and competition. Demonstrate a desire to improve knowledge.
