Why this role matters You will be part of a Design Operations team who are responsible for setting the standards, processes, and environment to amplify the value of the BT Consumer Digital design team. This role will be focused on providing operational support to our User Research team, which sit within our wider Design team. As the digital team continues to grow this role is vital to ensuring that our product squads put people at the centre of the design process and our products. In order to achieve this, the role is key in enabling the Research team to carry out more regular exploratory research and moving to a model of democratised research across Digital. What you'll be doing * Processes and practices - Continue to build-out the UX research discipline by helping to define processes and best practices with rest of user research team. * Efficiency improvements - Define the operational needs for the BT Consumer User Research Team. * Templates - Create UX Research templates. eg. participant screeners, research briefs, research summary documents, personas, journey and opportunity maps. * Recruitment - Design a scalable participant recruitment process for existing customers as well as external participants. * Collaboration - Collaborate with team members in product management, design, and engineering to understand their research needs at a high level and how to best support them in the Product Development process. * Usability labs - Responsible for the operational running of the lab facilities. * Training - Create a learning environment where the wider design team are encouraged to grow and expand their skills, techniques, and tools to make them better researchers. * Promotion - Be a thought leader on user research across the company. * Design Impact - Accountable for scaling the visibility & understanding of design and research across Digital. * Principles - Support, socialise and enable the Digital Experience principles. * Playbook - Support and update the service manual across design and the playbook of activities, templates, practices & lean approach to all work. * Culture and community - You'll be helping to build the design culture and improving the community including working practices and spaces. * People - Responsible for a fantastic recruitment, on-boarding and ongoing experience within Digital Design, including cross design team support & collaboration/culture activities.
