Job Description
Position Description * The Chief of Staff directly supports all activities and initiatives implemented by the Group CEO, and acts as a liaison between the Group Executive Team and other stakeholders. The Chief of Staff role is an integral part of the Group Chief Executive Office and is a trusted confidant and ambassador, representing the Group CEO both internally and externally. * This role is accountable for increasing the bandwidth and velocity of the Group CEO and Group Executive Committee (GEC) in such a way as to concentrate their time, effort and priorities on strategic initiatives to maximise value for shareholders. * To be the "glue" behind the scenes, to trouble shoot, to solve problems, ensuring the smooth running of the Group CEO Office. * The Chief of Staff will also be the CEO for Lombard Wealth Advisors (LWA), the Company's UK Sales entity, with the responsibility for the governance and oversight of the LWA's activities. Located at the Group's London Office, the Chief of Staff will share this location with the Group CEO and several other Group Executives, as well as the UK sales team and support staff. Objectives Support of the Group CEO: * Act as advisor and provide strategic counsel to the Group Chief Executive Officer. * Plan and direct all administrative, financial, and operational activities for the Group CEO. * Strategically align the Group CEO's time with the leaders to evaluate opportunities and determine fit with Group priorities to ensure the right balance of internal and external focus. * Accept directorships of various Group entities as requested by the CEO / BOD. * Ensure that the Group CEO is fully prepared for all meetings, source and share information on new industry developments, highlighting and communicating key current and relevant topics. * Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information to facilitate Executive decision making. Project Management: * Ensure strategies are translated into policies and procedures; governance is followed, providing appropriate consultancy support to all areas of the business in order to ensure effective implementation and communication. * Executive project oversight and sponsorship; acts on the authority of the Group CEO to oversee strategic projects with a primary focus on initiatives affecting the value chain that typically require cross functional resources. * Build cross-functional and global teams to drive projects to successful completion. * Creating systems and processes to streamline operations and build efficiencies. * Building and managing budgets for critical projects. Stakeholder Relations: * Prepare Group CEO and other Group Executives for Board of Directors meetings, preparing materials and ensuring all parties and materials are prepared in advance of meetings, time is used efficiently, and objectives are achieved. * Provides guidance and leadership to the Secretariat to the board in preparation and planning of agendas, associated papers and follow up actions. * Represent the Group externally when required, and act as a point of contact between Group Executives and external stakeholders. Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience * Ability to create and maintain cross-departmental, cross-cultural, and global relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally. * Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and projects, especially high-profile and mission critical initiatives. * Subject Matter Expertise on insurance products, and an innovative mindset towards exploring new product opportunities. * Encouraging 'can do' attitude, and ability to produce this attitude in others. * Ability to be self-sufficient and self-motivated when needed, as well as working collaboratively with employees at all levels of the Company. * Impeccable time management and multi-tasking skills. * Strategic and forward thinking mindset. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience * 10+ years of experience in an executive / senior sales or relationship management capacity. * 8+ years of progressive experience in leading or managing diverse teams. * Ability to maintain or obtain any and all regulatory licenses / requirements within six (6) months of joining the Company. * Ability to travel to various Group locations, specifically the Group Headquarters in Luxembourg and Phildaelphia, PA, USA. (estimate less than 30% travel). * Excellent leadership and negotiation skills. * Advanced degree in business or an equivalent. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
