Overview
Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Specialist Midwife for Perinatal Mental health at The Royal London Hospital. Particularly exciting given the NHS long term plan. As the Specialist Midwife for Perinatal Mental Health, you will ensure the delivery of high quality and enhanced midwifery care to women affected by moderate to severe mental health throughout the childbirth continuum. As the clinical expert, the post holder will be also be expected to exercise a high degree of professional autonomy, providing advice, support, supervision and training to staff and colleagues within this area of expertise. Together with the local Perinatal Mental Health Teams you will ensure that the care is patient centred, clinically driven and flexible to meet the needs of these women. You will be working alongside the Gateway Team for vulnerable pregnant women and also closely with the specialist midwife for Safeguarding and specialist midwife for substance abuse.
