About the Service: South West London and St Georges Mental Health Trust has 8 adult acute inpatient wards, each of 18 beds and a male PICU of 13 beds. Six adult acute wards are mixed; there is one male ward, and one female ward. The wards are based in 3 sites, Springfield Hospital, Tolworth Hospital, and Queen Mary's Hospital. About the R ole: The post is at core trainee level/ specialty doctor level and would suit someone considering applying for a core training rotation in psychiatry, or someone with more experience. Appointments are for 6 months in the first instance, with the possibility of extension to one year. The post is available from 5 August 2020. The programme is suitable for doctors seeking clinical experience and career progression. Training, educational opportunities and appraisal will be offered to successful candidates. Posts will be offered equivalent to the Core Psychiatry Training or Specialist Registrar grades according to the candidate's experience. The post holder will be able to take part in post graduate educational activities within the Trust including the academic programme. Clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives will be encouraged. Salary range dependent on experience - 38,693 - 49,036 per annum plus contractual enhancements. Clinical Responsibilities: The post holder will work on an 18 bedded adult acute admission ward, and will work with a junior doctor colleague and consultant. Duties will include psychiatric clerking and routine medical care for inpatients, attendance and documentation at ward rounds, and administrative duties such as preparation of discharge summaries. The Trust uses the RiO system for electronic notes, and also has electronic prescribing. Training will be given on both. The appointee will have the opportunity to participate in the on call rota. About the location: The role will be based in one of the Trust inpatient sites, which are - * Springfield Hospital, 61 Glenburnie Road, London SW17 7DJ; * Tolworth Hospital, Red Lion Rd, Tolworth, Surbiton KT6 7QU; and * Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton Lane, London SW15 5PN. Trust Headquarters is located at Springfield University Hospital in Tooting. This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) or the G1 bus.
