Job Description

Job Title - AVP - Optimization Leader Location - Glasgow The Optimization team drives business process re-engineering and optimization within the Wholesale Onboarding and Group Financial Crime Operations transaction cycle. It applies the process first lens to solving problems in that estate. It supports enterprise wide operating principles including process definitions & outcomes & minimum "good" process standards. We are proud of the close relationships we have with the Operations Teams and Technology Teams - each initiative we deliver will benefit the team around us and Operations as a whole, whether this be by improving Customer NPS scores, reducing complaints, or driving down operational costs, all of which enhance and benefit the customer experience. You will undertake root cause analysis and design solutions for complex problems, which may vary in size from smaller process amendments to contributing to operating model overhaul. You will also help the organisational area to look holistically at Operational capability and provide support and guidance. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and generate operational capacity through process re-engineering in order to drive continuous improvement. Support the wider Change team by implementing operational and process improvements across the Wholesale Onboarding and Group FCO transaction cycle. What will you be doing? Analyse operational problems to identify opportunities for process engineering to deliver efficiency and capacity Contribute to operational design discussions, identifying cost-effective and future focused solutions, challenging current state thinking appropriately Project management of delivery for operating model and process changes Coordination of technology changes with the business and business readiness teams Contribute towards the Operations Change strategy and support planning of the wider Change portfolio Leads, organises and drives specific process analysis, improvement, change and implementation across complex cross-organisational end-to-end processes and delivery of associated customer and commercial benefits Provides support to embed a culture of continuous improvement through advocacy, dissemination and utilisation of relevant and appropriate approaches, tools and methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma. Support the education, coaching and mentoring of colleagues at all levels of the business in lean and process improvement techniques Produce reports on the initiatives progress at regular intervals to all key stakeholders Identify and implement process and operational improvement activities, analysis and change which maximize desired benefits and outcomes, either as part of individual projects or as part of a wider programme of change and improvement Play a key role in hand over to BAU, working with TC01 BAU teams to ensure acceptance into the operating model. Utilise LEAN, Sigma, Process Improvement and Business Process Management models and development opportunities to pursue own development to increase personal effectiveness and accelerate and maintain personal skill-set Become a subject matter expert on Business Process Management and Improvement tools and methodologies (e.g. Lean and Six Sigma) and strive to build understanding within Operations. Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders and sponsors of varying levels of seniority within business units, operations and IT delivery teams Regularly and effectively deputise for the Senior LEAN/Optimisation Leader at design forums, project management committees and other meetings with stakeholders. What we're looking for: Strong working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and operations management tools, concepts and techniques. Capable of leading and implementing the practical application of the full range of lean methods on the operational `shop floor` Ability to effectively manage lean projects / initiatives within budget and time constraints Understanding of and exposure to project management disciplines, frameworks and techniques. Skills that will help you in the role: Experience in stakeholder management at a senior level Good communication skills (verbal / written) and a demonstrated ability at influencing change and behaviours Self-motivated with a high degree of ownership and accountability for results Influencing / networking - ability to develop and maintain internal and external business relationships and using own knowledge, skills and experience to influence others opinions and actions.
