As the Hardware Engineer at our facilities in Motherwell, you will be part of the team renowned for their innovation and expertise delivering optimum quality products. Responsibilities include: * Defining, designing, documenting, coding, verifying, approving, and supporting cost effective firmware developments for volume production of Home control products * Working with Design Assurance test engineers and manufacturing test engineers throughout the entire development cycle to deliver high quality cost effective new products and platforms * Performing product lifecycle and support activities for legacy control products * Involvement in improving processes, technologies, methodologies and innovation within Home controls development team * Create project and technical reports as required and help define product architecture as needed. * Designs, develop and integrate embedded firmware for the latest in control products. * Interact with product management and develop solutions that delivers comfort and energy efficiency. * Manage software applications * Build Machine development and maintenance for firmware SKILLS YOU MUST HAVE: * Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering * Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming * 3+ years of embedded firmware development using C and/or C++ programming language * Strong knowledge of embedded SW architecture * Knowledge of embedded hardware and components * Experience with build systems including compiling, linking, loading, and executing firmware image * Strong firmware debugging techinques and usage of tools like trace analyser, JTAG * Experience of using lab tools like multimeter, CRO, logic analyser.
