Overview

Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a new Clinical Lecturer (0.5fte) to complement our existing staff on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate (ClinPsyD) programme. You will provide supervision, teaching and other input into the ClinPsyD, with a particular focus on enhancing our students' Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) skills development. The ClinPsyD team are currently setting up a new clinic designed to enhance CBT training on the programme and mental health care at the University. The clinic will provide high-intensity CBT interventions for students and staff with common mental health problems (e.g. anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder), such as those seen at step 3 within Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services. Therapies will be delivered by students on the ClinPsyD as part of their CBT skills training and development. The new Clinical Lecturer will provide weekly clinical supervision to these students, as well as day to day management of the clinic, teaching on CBT and supervision of ClinPsyD research projects as appropriate. You should have expertise in CBT, and professional accreditation as a CBT practitioner with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Candidates who are BABCP accredited CBT supervisors are preferred but we will also accept applications for candidates who meet the relevant criteria for BABCP supervisor accreditation but have not yet completed that process. You will be expected to work on days that the new clinic is open (Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays). As this is a 0.5fte post, the appointee will be expected to work 6.25 hours on each of these days. There is a small amount of flexibility around the exact hours to be worked, although this must fit in with the needs of the clinic. As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit. Please note that we are unable to respond to enquiries, accept CVs or applications from Recruitment Agencies.
