Job Description
We are looking for a highly capable and flexible person to fulfil the role of Learning Mentor in our school from September 2020. We are seeking someone with primary school experience of children with Special Educational Needs and Behaviour Management who is ready for and enthusiastic about this new and varied role in our school. The successful candidate will assist the SENCO with meeting notes, attend meetings for a range of SEN and vulnerable pupils and record outcomes, support pupils, advise teaching staff and teaching assistants and liaise with parents on a regular basis sometimes in difficult circumstances and work closely with the headteacher and the school's existing Learning Mentor with regard to safeguarding matters. Candidates should be able to work well under pressure and organise their own workload without being 'micro managed'. They should also have good literacy and numeracy skills as they will be required to contribute to reports and all engage in all types of communication in school and beyond. A positive, 'can do' attitude is essential, as is the ability to maintain confidentiality, as well as being a good team player.
