Job Description
iwoca is breaking down the barriers that stop Europe's 20 million small businesses from accessing finance. We believe finance should make life easier, not harder, for small businesses. When small businesses go to traditional lenders they are forced to deal with long waits, absurdly rigid criteria, and impersonal bureaucracies. We're still near the start of our journey - our aim is to finance one million small businesses within a decade and we need more smart, hands-on people to help us reach this goal. Requirements Your mission will be: * Investigating cases flagged as a potential fraud/AML risk. Including CIFAS flags, facial biometric anomalies, device based anomalies, signs of document tampering and more. * Taking ownership of customer verification on a case by case basis and driving what information is required to reduce the risk of fraud and money laundering. * Identifying opportunities to improve our processes and implement changes which will make us more efficient, including presenting these ideas to key stakeholders when required. * Work closely with our Customer Success, Credit Analyst and Broker teams to maintain our high fraud prevention standards while ensuring a fast and slick service. * Conduct root cause analysis on funded fraud cases to identity flaws in the current process. We look for people that are smart, humble, motivated and who are always looking to improve. Ideally, you'll have: * Fraud investigation experience within the financial industry, preferably the SME sector. * Experience working with any of the following fraud tools: CIFAS, Onfido, Device ID providers and an understanding of credit reference agencies data. * Thorough attention to detail, and the ability to spot patterns and trends amid large quantities of data. * A confident and enthusiastic attitude that works well in a regularly changing and fast paced environment. * Excellent communication skills. You will have direct telephone contact with loan applicants to extract additional information so need a friendly telephone manner. * You'll require the ability to simplify a process, explaining both the problem and suggested resolution without jargon. * You have a pragmatic, risk based approach to case investigation * An analytical mindset with a practical approach to problem solving.
