The Money and Pensions Service vision is everyone making the most of their money and pensions. This new organisation brings together the free services delivered by the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise. We are an Arms-Length organisation, sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions, with a joint commitment to ensuring that people have access and guidance to the information they need to make effective financial decisions over their lifetime. As a UX Designer, you will interpret evidence-based research and incorporate this to help deliver the groups' customer focused vision across all digital channels. The role will work within an existing team of talented UX designers who are responsible for the Money and Pension Service site as well as our service brands, Money Advice Service, Pension Wise and The Pensions Advisory Service. The role offers the chance to own and drive improvements to the user experience across several core journeys whilst also influencing the design of our rapidly evolving platform. As a UX designer, you will evangelise the UX process across the business, providing insight and best practice guidance to colleagues. You will take an evidence and research lead approach to identifying and understanding the needs of our users, whilst translating user stories and propose design approaches or services to meet these needs and engage in meaningful interactions and relationships with users. You will be required to listen to the needs of the technical and business stakeholders and interpret between them whilst managing stakeholders' expectations and facilitate difficult discussions within the team or with diverse senior stakeholders. Visualising, articulating and solving complex problems and concepts, making disciplined decisions based on available information and research evidence in addition to leading usability and user research initiatives to drive improvements to the site UX for specific sections or journeys will also play a key part. What you'll need to succeed * The ideal candidate will have at least four years UX experience working on a range of sites and apps. * 4+ years' experience working in a UX design role, using research and customer insight to develop and delivery simple user experiences that deliver business outcomes. * Ability to create lean UI and UX documentation and assets including sketches, wireframes, low and high-fidelity proto@types, sitemaps & specification documents. * Able to collaborate with user researchers and represent the needs of users internally. Understands the difference between user needs and desires of the user. Able to champion user research to focus on all users. Can prioritise and define approaches to understand the user story, guiding others in doing so. * Able to work collaboratively within a group, proactively networking with others and engaging in varying @types of feedback choosing the appropriate time and ensuring the discussion sticks. * Experience working with UX design systems and template/component-based CMS environments. * Experience designing experiences across mobile, tablet and desktop environments * Experience planning and executing user testing as part of the UX design process. * Strong understanding of Accessibility and Usability best practices and how to incorporate them into the design process.
