The opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic team within Neurosciences/OMFS ITU in the Institute of Neurological Sciences, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The post will be based within Ward 61(ITU) with rotation to HDU if required to meet service demand. ITU provides Level 3 Critical Care as part of a west of Scotland Regional Neuroscience Service, which includes critically ill patients from Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Oral Maxillary Facial Surgery. You must have significant critical care experience at minimum band 5 levels, with exposure to and experience of management within Critical Care. It is desirable that you have a post-basic critical care qualification. You must be committed to staff development, with an active mentorship qualification. You should be a preceptor for staff nurses in your current or most recent area. You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to patient-centred care, continuing professional development, an understanding of our service, and the specific needs of our patients (or a commitment to learn and develop these skills). You will demonstrate flexibility, and a willingness to participate in service progression and growth. The ability to work effectively in a team is essential. A competency based education programme is in place to support your development. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have a recognised post-registration course in critical care and/or leadership. You should have substantial post registration experience, of which some must be within an HDU/ Intensive Care Ward.
