Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for 2 theatre coordinators in the South Sector of Greater Glasgow & Clyde, based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) and New Victoria Day surgery. QEUH theatre suite consists of 22 theatres covering a variety of specialties including Major General Surgery, Urology, Renal, Vascular, Orthopaedics including spinal, ENT, Gynaecology, Trauma and Emergencies. There is a very busy 40 bedded recovery room and a same day admission unit. Victoria Day surgery Unit has 8 theatres and a treatment room with specialties General, Ophthalmology, ENT, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic, Urology, Pain, Breast surgery and Dental surgery. The Unit has a 48 bedded admission/ discharge area and a 12 bedded Ward. We are looking to recruit leaders to improve efficiency and patient flow and to assist with providing a seamless perioperative experience for our patients and clinical colleagues. Identifying areas of for improvement and constantly driving change. You will have the determination and vision to work with the Multi Disciplinary Team and our stakeholders to achieve this. You must also have the skills to deal with conflicting pressures in a professional and calm manner and be able to work in a highly pressured environment while maintaining a can do attitude. You will work collaboratively with the MDT. You will be responsible ultimately to the Lead Nurse. You must have demonstrated ability of working in a complex, multidisciplinary, clinical environment. You must have excellent leadership qualities and be a highly effective communicator.
