Job Description

The IMPART service is a nationally recognised psychological therapies service providing evidence based interventions, consultation, and liaison for individuals with a personality disorder and the services which support them. IMPART was originally one of the national pilot sites for personality disorder services and more recently in 2012 was identified as one of the National IAPT-SMI demonstration sites. We provide third wave CBT therapies including DBT, CFT, ACT and MBCT. Led by an international trainer in DBT and experts in other third wave therapies, all new staff receive training in a range of third wave CBT models, and the team participates in weekly training to update and increase the team skill base. Supervision to adherence across all models is provided. This post is for a clinical/counselling psychologist (this post is also suitable for someone due to qualify in October 2020) within in the team who will provide psychological treatment, consultation to external services, and support in psychological theory and formulation to other members of the team. This post is an opportunity for individuals interested in learning DBT and being supervised to adherence.The individual appointed will be expected to have some experience in providing psychological therapy for individuals with a personality disorder, have worked with complex and high risk clients as part of their training or post-training experience, and have a genuine interest in working with individual with a personality disorder who are at high risk and an interest in developing expertise in third wave CBT therapies, primarily in DBT. The main responsibilities of the post are: * To provide psychological therapy for complex and high risk cases * To provide consultation to external services on working with clients with a personality disorder * To support the use of psychological theory to guide formulations and treatment across IMPART * To engage with the research and audit agenda within the team * To support the development of clinical psychology trainees in the team * To assist with the ongoing development of the service Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. High Cost Area Supplement - London This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of 3,784 to a maximum of 4,822).
