EMERGENCY MEDICINE SPECIALTY REGISTRAR CLINICAL FELLOW (ST1 EQUIVALENT) EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS NINEWELLS HOSPITAL & PERTH ROYAL INFIRMARY 5th AUGUST 2020 UNTIL 2nd FEBRUARY 2021 Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow (ST1 Equivalent) post covering both Ninewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary in Emergency Medicine Tayside Emergency Medicine aims to deliver high quality care in association with high quality training through high levels of consultant supervision of at least 16 hours per day. Both departments consistently perform amongst the best in the UK in caring for our patients within the 4 hour standard. All the consultants are experienced trainers and feedback from the GMC survey and Scottish Trainee Survey are consistently good Tayside ED's see approximately 70,000 new patients a year and Ninewells is a Major Trauma Centre within the Scottish Trauma Network with a Prehospital Team based in the department. Both departments are general ED's seeing the full age range and variety of presentations ensuring a good breadth of training experience with specific policies in place to ensure the most critically unwell patients are brought to the right hospital first time. NHS Tayside is responsible for delivering healthcare to more than 415,000 people living in Tayside. We employ around 14,000 staff and provide a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services for the populations of Dundee City, Angus and Perth & Kinross. Our annual budget is now circa £910 million of public money which works out at around £2.5 million spent by NHS Tayside for every day of the year.
