Assistant Head Teacher 46,000 54,500 According to experience The Virtual school is a specialist support team responsible for raising the attainment, progress and aspirations of all the Looked After Children (and previously Looked After Children) across two SW London Boroughs and Berkshire. The team is outward facing, highly ambitious and is very much looking to the future In what we believe to be an outstanding opportunity we are looking to appoint into the new role of Assistant Head Virtual School. If you have worked in a Senior Leadership team at a secondary school and have high expectations for all children regardless of background and the challenges they face this diverse and interesting role could be for you. This is a long term contract with the potential to become a permanent appointment. The postholder will: * Work under the direction of the Headteacher provide challenge and support; and develop the aspirations and achievement of Care * Develop the Virtual College Approach across the three local authority areas with the ultimate aim to increase engagement in higher education, support workplace transition and promote high incidence of EET for this cohort. * Develop support pathways for students not in education , employment and training and oversee the Multi-agency NEET * Assist the Headteacher in contributing to the assessment processes, analysing and evaluating data and using it to set appropriate targets within the Virtual * Ensure that Care Leavers in Year 12 and Year 13 have outstanding quality ePEPs which are monitored rigorously, and which raise * Establish a strategic Education Board for the Virtual College composed of leaders in Sixth Form, Colleges, University and Business along with the Headteacher of the Virtual School and other leadership in the LA. To deepen relationships, raise awareness and hold partners to account regarding supporting Care Leavers and to widen local * Provide development and training opportunities for education, training and workplace settings; Social Workers, Carers, Boards of Trustees and Governors and other professionals to raise awareness of the learning and wellbeing needs of Care Leavers and ultimately impact on their * Attend meetings within the Local Authority and with stakeholders to champion the education and workplace achievement of Care Leavers and impact on outcomes.
