Our client is looking for Procurement Assistant

DUTIES:

 Identifying, analyzing, sourcing and communicating with local and foreign vendors to

prepare quotations for clients.

 Receiving Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Tenders, researching and sourcing products

and drafting responses to the RFQ.

 Applying analytical and critical thinking to overcome obstacles in sourcing products

requested by clients. Communicating with Management on the best options for sourcing of

materials.

 Creating Purchase Orders for approval within the assigned deadlines.

 Gathering and relaying information to the Shipping Department on data collected from

foreign suppliers.

 Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates on the arrival of goods.

 Contributing to a more effective procurement procedure in keeping with recognised

standards.

 Communicating with Management to maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory

requirements eg OPR.

 Representing the Company at seminars, meetings and forums on procurement matters.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

 A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar position.

 Experience in purchasing, customs and/or brokerage would be an asset.

 Working knowledge of hardware, electrical and industrial supplies and consumables.

 Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

 CAPE/Advanced Level subjects will be an asset.

 CIPS Level 1 or a Professional Certification in Procurement or Logistics will be an asset


A suitable combination of experience and training will be considered.

 The ability to communicate with clients in a variety of possible situations, regarding

procurement of supplies.

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 Organized.

 Pleasant and enthusiastic disposition.

 Problem-solving skills.


Working Days and Hours are:

 Mondays to Fridays – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

 Saturdays: 8:00 am to 12 noon
