JAMES PAGET UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST LOWESTOFT ROAD GORLESTON GT YARMOUTH NR31 6LA POST No. Clinical Fellow Ophthalmology / Retinal This modern University Hospital is a Foundation Trust which is located less than a mile from long sandy beaches, and is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Norfolk Broads. The cathedral city of Norwich is only 40 minutes away, and is regularly voted one of the top 5 shopping destinations in the UK. There is a wide choice of good local schools and attractive house prices. This Clinical Fellow role in Ophthalmology / Retinal is for a Substantive position and will be at 10 PA's per week. You will be joining a friendly and cohesive team. The department offers subspecialty interests in Glaucoma, Diabetic Eye Disease, Vitreo-Retinal Surgery, Medical Retina (including AMD service), Oculoplastic, Cornea & External Eye Disease, Ocular Motility & Paediatric Ophthalmology, and cataract surgery. As part of the role you will be expected to travel to Beccles Hospital to deliver clinics approximately twice a week. There is an active teaching/research program within the department in collaboration with the University of East Anglia. There is an excellent library and a purpose built education & training centre, including an ophthalmic wet lab, on site. The Hospital is situated in a mainly rural area in one of the most open, picturesque, safe and unspoilt parts of the country, offering a range of inexpensive properties, good schools, easy access to the coast and an abundance of outdoor, sporting and recreational activities.
