PLEASE NOTE: INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY Band 4 Diabetic Failsafe Officer (Ophthalmology) The Ophthalmology Department is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as the Diabetic Failsafe Officer for a 1 year Maternity Cover starting in July 2020 offered as either a Secondment or Fixed Term position. You will be the main point of contact for administrative issues relating to Diabetic patients' pathway of care, assurance that all patients' pathways are managed using national assurance standards and local clinical decisions. You will work as part of a Multi-disciplinary team and will provide expertise in the proactive management of the Diabetic patients' pathways from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly. You are also expected to work closely with the National Diabetic Eye Screening Programme, and build a good working relationship with their administrators and Failsafe Officers. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and be willing to multi-task under challenging conditions and have the ability to supervise and delegate work to those within their team. We are also able to offer flexibility in working from either of the 2 main Ophthalmology hubs at Reading and Windsor, as well as working from home on rotation.
