Job Description

Bristol Brewery Tours launched in March 2016 and has been running regular walking tour to local Bristol venues. We are looking for freelance tour guides who are able to help with Saturday tours on a regular basis. We are looking for a few tour guides in total to join an existing team of guides. Current guides tend to work in acting, writing, pubs, catering, breweries, recruitment or are studying at university. Generally this suits the type of person who is used to and enjoys working freelance in a variety of jobs. We currently operate the following format on our tours: * guests enjoy tastings of Bristol beers on board a fully licensed ferry boat * guests visit Moor Brewery for a pre-arranged tour and tastings * guests visit Beer Emporium for cheese and meats along with 6 local beers * we generally have around 35 guests with 2 tour guides We are looking for tour guides who are available to work mainly on Saturday. You can choose when you work but we are looking for people able to commit to regular tours of at least once per month where possible. Whilst knowing about local beer and breweries is a plus point, this is something that can be picked up upon as you do more tours. The ideal tour guide would: * be reliable and have good time management skills * be able to communicate with all types of guests and make them feel that they are valued customers * be able to manage people to get safely from A to B * be able to think on their feet and adapt tours where necessary * be able to work well and communicate with venues/venue staff With events, it's great when it all goes well - however it's when things go wrong that you'll need to adapt without the guests even noticing. The true test of a good tour guide is making guests feel everything is running smoothly at all times. Payment per tour is on a fixed fee basis. Tours currently start around 11.45am and last until around 4-5pm. We currently work with over 20 freelance guides around the UK and would love you to be part of the team.
