Psychological Therapies Pathway & MAP Treatment Pathway Haringey East Community Hub Clinical or Counselling Psychologist - Band 7, 0.9 WTE We are looking for a creative, innovative and enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join Haringey Community Services. This Psychologist post is split between the Psychological Therapies (PT) Pathway and Mood Anxiety and Personality difficulty (MAP) Pathway. Our Service: Haringey Community Services aims to promote excellence and innovation in the provision of care to patients with challenging and complex presentations. A range of new approaches have been developed within Haringey, from Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) to the integrated and psychologically informed team based care that the MAP and PTSD Pathways now offer. There are a number of other projects being trialled here, including a Primary Care link worker Project and Open Dialogue. We also have considerable experience in providing and hosting training, ranging from clinical placements for a variety of professionals to organised training events, such as the North London CAT Practitioner Course. Psychological Therapies (PT) Pathway:Haringey Community Services offers outpatient Psychological Therapies (PT) provision. We are fortunate to have Psychologists working from a range of psychological models and we offer stand-alone treatments from modalities such as Psychodynamic, CAT, CBT, EMDR, ACT, Systemic and Group Psychotherapy. Psychological Therapies provision within Haringey has a history of excellence and we have over 20 Psychologists and Psychological Therapists working within adult mental health services, all based at St Ann's Hospital. Part of your role will involve delivering individual and/or group psychological therapy, psychological assessments, and supervision. We believe in the importance of supervision, development and providing nurturing and supportive networks to allow Psychologists to grow. There is significant opportunity for learning and development, and the trust has an excellent Psychology CPD training calendar, involving various trainings on a monthly rota. MAP Treatment Pathway:This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive, reflective and creative psychologically-led multi-disciplinary team. The MAP Pathway is an innovative and leading service in the treatment of complex anxiety and depression. The MAP Pathway focuses on understanding and working with the relational patterns underlying anxiety and depression, and there are separate pathways working with Psychosis, PTSD or Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) presentations. The pathway has developed innovative ways of working with complex anxiety and depression presentations, involving formal brief interventions (e.g. Behavioural Activation, Anxiety management, Agoraphobia treatments), a range of group interventions (4x groups) and Key-Clinician sessions (based on psychological formulation). It is a small contained team staffed by Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Nurses, an Associate Mental Health Worker and Assistant Psychologists. An aptitude and interest to work collaboratively and respectfully in multidisciplinary teams is thus essential. This role will involve facilitating and delivering the MAP group programme, psychological formulation sessions and regular service development and audits. Following 8-years of development the MAP Pathway is focused on research and publicising more widely on the service model and outcomes. Models used within the pathway range from CAT, psychodynamic, Systemic and CBT (including 3rd wave approaches). The overall framework for the service is provided by Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) which provides theoretical coherence. Experience in CAT is not essential, but an interest in it would be a requirement of the post. The post holder must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Interested candidates would be very welcome to make contact for an informal discussion.
