We are delighted to have recently been rated "good" overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following the most recent comprehensive inspection of the organisation in October and November 2019. Our improved overall rating and ratings of "good" for being well led and "good" for our use of resources demonstrates the positive progress made, against a backdrop of an increase in attendances and admissions. This is an exciting opportunity to set up and lead a commercial function at one of the largest acute hospitals in the country. This is a senior leadership role with a broad remit to increase commercial revenues and develop strong partnerships with the private sector. This is an exciting time for commercial developments as until recently very little commercial activity has been undertaken, therefore, there is considerable scope for success. * As Commercial Director you will proactively and positively contribute to the successful overall performance of the Trust, delivering excellent levels of customer service to all patients/visitors and staff at the Trust. * You will ensure that you develop an organisational culture that fosters collaborative working among all staff groups, to ensure a focused commitment to delivering quality services and outcomes and act as an advocate for the Trust and its contribution to the Health Service arena through creating effective partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders. * As Commercial Director you will establish regular contact with Trust executives, clinical services, lead clinicians, managers and corporate service leads to gain and maintain a strong understanding of their pressures, challenges, targets and aspirations and to identify opportunities to provide commercial support to help address these. Support the Trust culture of collaborative, flexible cross-team working and commitment to delivering quality services and outcome. * As Commercial Director you will be leading and directing a major Private Finance Initiative contract including the commercial management of the PFI contract. * You will lead the review, development and implementation of the Trust's commercial strategy, ensuring adequate engagement with stakeholders. Work with Trust Strategy & Transformation functions to develop long-term and annual business plans and associated business cases for commercial developments. * Establishing close working with research and innovation services and explore how opportunities could be commercially exploited, will be a key element of the role as well as ensuring there are appropriate governance arrangements are in place to warrant that commercial development programmes and projects are well led and managed to deliver required benefits on time and within budget. * Finally as Commercial Director you shall create a sustainable pipeline of commercial developments and ensure financial plans are regularly updated with the latest commercial income forecasts and provide routine and ad-hoc reports on commercial issues, plans and risks to Trust Board, Trust Leadership Team, Finance and Investment Committee and other bodies to commercial issues are understood.
