Description Role Overview 6-month Internship to support the business requirements of the Social Innovation Team. Perform business analysis and reporting for assigned projects and work with management to identify business needs, challenges and opportunities to meet business strategy. Recommend business improvements based on market and competitive trends and develop action plans to overcome business challenges. Main Tasks & Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Analyse market and technology trends and drivers in the Industry 4.0 and digital solutions global markets. * Assess ecosystems and competitive dynamics, partner needs, competitive plays. * Study organization's strengths and weaknesses, assets and capabilities. * Support in the definition of business, marketing and operational strategies, based on various competitive positionings and business models. * For strategy related projects, define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements. * Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems and publishing progress reports. * Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. * Prepare business and sometime technical reports by collecting, analysing and summarising information and trends. * Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Conduct and coordinate financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic and business planning within the various departments and programs. * Interpret, evaluate and interrelate research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making. * Plan and coordinate the development of primary and secondary market research studies in support of strategic planning and specific marketing initiatives, as required and presents findings of studies. * Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes. * Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement. * Conduct insightful, ad-hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues. Skills & Competencies Required * Bachelor's Degree and / or Masters in an area such as Business Administration, Marketing, Technology & Information Management or equivalent work experience * Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational * Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive * Ability to work independently and with others in a team * Extremely organized with strong time-management skills * Knowledge of Process Improvement * Experience of Microsoft Word, Access and PowerPoint * Big Picture Thinking * Works Well Under Pressure * Excellent Communication skills - verbal and written * Problem Solving abilities * Critical Thinking * Strong Relationship Building skills Qualifications About the Team at Hitachi The mobility landscape is changing and shifting towards digital.
