Vacancy Overview EDF Renewables UK ("EDF RUK") is one of the UK's leading renewable energy companies, specialising in wind power and battery storage technology. EDF RUK develops, builds, operates and maintains wind farms and other renewable technologies throughout their lifetime. The EDF RUK portfolio of nearly 1,000 MW consists of 35 wind farms - including two offshore wind farms - and one of the largest operational battery storage units in Europe. In addition, EDF RUK is seeking to deliver further growth from its own development pipeline or though securing new acquisitions of projects and has more than 2GW consented, in planning and development. Following the rapid expansion of the EDFRUK business we have identified the need for a person within the tax team to support the growth ambition of the company and to free up time for the Senior Tax Manager to focus on business strategy. The Senior Tax Business Partner will report directly to the Senior Tax Manager and will complement the Tax Accountant role. The primary purpose of the role is to work with the finance function and partner with the business to deliver tax efficient and risk balanced acquisitions, divestments, developments and business integration projects. The role will also be expected to support the tax function and finance function on projects and compliance as well as non-tax areas such as structuring and risk. Principal Accountabilities In this role you will: Facilitate businesses growth across renewables technologies including battery, solar, onshore and offshore wind Be recognised as an expert within the organisation and to represent the tax function on acquisitions, disposals and integrations Be a business partner, manage stakeholders and be the principle tax point of contact on projects and deals Integrate new businesses, projects and processes ready to hand over to business as usual Support the tax function and wider finance team as required Acquisitions, Disposals and integrations include (but are not limited to): Provide the tax assumptions and tax modelling mechanics to the modelling teams Pre-acquisition/disposal review (background information on target, IM prep/review, etc.) Transaction planning and structuring Providing tax input in to non-binding offers Tax advice on tax risk, legal structures, sale and purchase agreements, asset management agreements, joint venture agreements, loan documents, inter-company charges, employee and contractor taxation Perform or oversee tax due diligence & liaise with advisors Tax lead for Q&A Provide tax input and review of investment committee memos Liaise and communicate with stakeholders across the business and shareholders Contribute to decisions which protect and meet the commercial aims of the business Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience What does being a great Senior Tax Business Partner at EDF RUK mean? Implementation: Helping the identification and implementation of opportunities for continuous development of processes and information to meet changing customer needs. Skills and Qualifications Essential ACA, CTA or equivalent qualification; Post-qualification experience within a large accounting firm and/or within industry; Strong numeracy and analytical skills; Strong communication skills and an ability to convey complex technical problems in a non-technical, succinct and easy to understand manner for the business; The ability to deal with people at all levels and across business functions; Attention to detail; Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise conflicting priorities; Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team; High level of professional integrity; Computer literate with knowledge of Word, Excel and familiarity with corporation tax software. Desirable A combination of corporation tax and VAT knowledge and experience; M&A experience; Some knowledge of finance and accountancy principles.
