Job Description
A 12 month fixed term role has arisen with an excellent organisation within the homelessness sector. This role is specifically working with former rough sleepers who are now moving from hotels/temporary accommodation (due to the COVID19 pandemic) to tenancies within the community. The specific duties of the role are : * Provide person centred support to help people leaving hotels and emergency accommodation who need help to be housed sustainably * Undertake practical tasks associated with this * Identify goals with clients ie.employment, further education, improved housing, social networks, health and wellbeing, and assist in working towards them. * Conduct initial assessments and ongoing reviews * Use a coaching methodology to support members to address wider support needs such as decision-making, well-being and learning * Signpost to relevant support services You will report directly to the manager/team leader. Some evening & weekend work may be required in exchange for time in leiu. A PVG will be required for this role. To be considered for the post you must have the following knowledge/experience and be able to demonstrate this: * Experience of using coaching, IAG or psychologically informed approaches with homeless clients or those with similar disadvantage. * Knowledge of the issues affecting homeless people and knowledge of the relevant housing and homelessness legislation that influence prevention and ending homelessness, welfare benefits, and access and entitlements to specialist support services. * Ability to review and appraise and to use this information to develop learning/progression plans * Experience of networking and securing access to appropriate specialist support services * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and experience of data entry using a case management system.
