Job Description
Morgan Hunt's client are a leading and well respected Edinburgh based organisation with sites across Scotland. They are looking for a Data & Systems Manager with a June/early July start date. This is a management team level post with responsibility for managing a couple of members of staff. The key focus of the post will be around data and analytics - developing and managing their data strategy, data management approach and processes including collation and user requirements, validation, manipulation and visualisation. This organisation use mainly SQL databases and utilise mainly a Microsoft tech stack including visual studio, Power BI and PowerAutomate. The post is initially on a 12 month fixed term but very good chance of a permanent post beyond this. The salary is around £48k, with the post based at their Edinburgh office but working from home for the foreseeable. Key requirements * The role requires an in-depth understanding and good experience of how data is transformed into Business information. From data extraction, transformation and modelling through to data visualisation. * A strong understanding and good experience of Datawarehouse design and principles * Experience with administration of SQL server * Experience using SQL server data tools within Visual studio * Experience designing and building data models using Microsoft analysis services in tabular mode using Dax. With a good understanding of row context, filter context and context Transition. * Experience developing Microsoft integration services packages for the purposes of extracting, transforming and loading data * Experience using data visualisation and analytical tools including Power BI * A solid understanding of statistics * Excellent problem solving skills Desirable * Line management experience * Data and process mining experience * Experience of Microsoft Dev ops or similar * Experience of developing BI strategy * Knowledge/experience of process/service improvement and methodologies such as design thinking and systems thinking * Knowledge/experience of agile principles * Knowledge/experience of the digital landscape including Office 365 applications such as power platform Morgan Hunt is a multi award winning Employment Business for interim, contract and temporary recruitment and acts as an Employment Agency in relation to permanent vacancies.
