Role Profile The role will provide architecture and designs for major strategic initiatives within Enterprise Network Services (ENS), the role will specifically focus on specialised electronic trading infrastructure (SETI) related projects whilst providing backup for SETI initiatives in other regions i.e. NA & Asia. SETI programs require an intimate working knowledge of low latency network design, precision timing for both FINRA and MifiD II regulatory compliance, exchange connectivity, multicast routing and market data distribution, dynamic routing (OSPF & BGP), QoS, Matrix switching and network instrumentation. The role requires Level 4 Engineering support for major operational incidents on a follow the sun basis as well as providing SME guidance for peers. The role holder is also expected to provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and architectures. In addition the candidate will be well versed in Linux, Python, Ansible etc and the tools associated with automation and orchestration within a network environment. This blend of skills will be used to help formulate an automation framework for Engineering leveraging tools already used in-house and other tools as necessary. In addition the candidate will work on projects to deliver use-cases built on the automation framework across diverse domains of the network The candidate would be considered the primary SME for Automation Engineering so should be hands-on and very comfortable with all associated technologies. Skills Required * Expert-level Low Latency Trading Network Engineering knowledge: * CCIE and intimate working knowledge of low latency network design, precision timing (ntp & ptp), exchange connectivity, multicast routing and market data distribution, dynamic routing (OSPF & BGP), QoS, Matrix switching and network instrumentation- taps, SPAN, netflow, sFlow etc * Practicioner-level network automation skills using DevOps and CI/CD pipeline practices: Linux and Open Source, Python, Network-as-code Jinja2 Templating, YAML, CI/CD pipeline and toolset such as Git/Gitlab/Jenkins or equivalent, Ansible. * Model-Driven Telemetry - configuration, collection, data analysis * Integration skills (API) with existing NMS toolsets (Spectrum, SevOne, Splunk etc) and other supporting systems ServiceNow, Infoblox etc. * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. * Collaborative and innovation focused mindset. Skills Desired * NAT, MPLS, IPSec, A10/F5 load-balancer, Arista, Cisco, Metameko, Exablaze, Corvil, FSM Labs and Spectracom timing products. * Familiarity with merchant/vendor silicon low latency product. * Virtualization, MPLS and security best practices. 40G/100G ethernet and wireless low latency (for e.g. microwave networks). * Knowledge of Ansible and Python programming a plus. * Familiarity with Market data distribution designs, retransmission requests, order entry protocols such as FIX for major exchanges in NA and EMEA(IE BATS, NYSE/ICE, NASDAQ, Deutsche Borse etc). * Tailf/Cisco NSO * Microsoft Office Suite * Knowledge of any AI/ML software or approaches to network analysis would be advantageous.
