Job Description

As part of the business system and customer network services modernization, the Network Security Engineer will be required to ensure that network security infrastructure elements are implemented to the highest standards thus maintaining and enhancing customer confidence. The incumbent shall work as part of the security engineering team and participate in technical reviews, change control meetings, risk analysis, and security architecture reviews across the enterprise. The Role: * Identify security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans for platform and network environments * Responsible for analysing, designing and implementing enhancements to the network to ensure it and applications are secure * Evaluate, design, document, and implement security-focused tools and services * Ensure the systems within our client are compliant with ISO27001/2, and NIST 800-53 security control frameworks * Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies. Influence system owners to adopt the security requirements on established systems and on new deployments * Work with other stakeholders within our client to write, update, and implement Information Security designs and standards * The post will require some travel to our client's remote offices and work during maintenance windows To Apply: * A citizen of the United Kingdom (UK) with eligibility for UK government security clearance and access to United States International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) data * Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science/Data Communications * Knowledge of IP protocols, network topologies and design, IPSEC and SSL based VPNs and wireless networks * At least 10 years of experience in designing, implementing and operating secure IP networks * At least 5 years of experience of working in a network environment configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting content monitoring systems, Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems, and/or firewalls * Proven experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools for analysing network and security incidents; Tenable Networks Nessus, BeyondTrust Retina or similar Vulnerability Assessment (VA) scanners; firewall rule audit tools * Knowledge of cloud vendors such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft AZURE and related security services * Basic knowledge of project management, systems engineering, and software development lifecycle methodologies * Willingness to learn new skills and be self-motivated * Ability to work in a team environment, to work under pressure and show flexibility * A co-operative but assertive personality * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
