Job Description
Information Security Media Group (ISMG) is seeking a full-time Executive News Editor to work with our global editorial staff. This Executive News Editor will be responsible for the intensive content editing of various ISMG publications and the digital content produced by the team?s writing staff. Our websites cover information security issues in healthcare, financial services and government, as well as data breach and risk management issues worldwide. It would be the Executive News Editor?s responsibility to edit breaking news, feature stories, interviews, blogs and more, working closely with the writers on the topics, sourcing and execution of these pieces. Responsibilities + Organize, supervise and participate in the management and development of all editorial content submitted, including articles, blogs, audio interviews and video features. + Work individually with content creators to ensure appropriate topics, sourcing and execution of content. + Work with editors and designers on the development of the editorial calendar, and set and enforce deadlines for copy. + Keep editorial staff up to date on schedules, revisions and related matters. + Analyze and capitalize various attributes and requirements of digital media to strengthen editor?s position. + Prepare operational reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions. + Design innovative and unique solutions to optimize routine news coverage + Analyze and capitalize various attributes and requirements of digital media to strengthen editor?s position. Requirements + A Bachelor?s Degree or higher. + At least 10 years of professional experience, at least five of those in technology and/or cybersecurity. + Must possess outstanding communication, analytical and organizational skills. + Ability to demonstrate a creative mindset. + Strong enthusiasm for online media and other related topics covered by our team for ISMG publications. + Excellent understanding of business leaders? issues and information needs. + Good IT skills to productively work with team members and their work across a multitude of media. + Leadership skills with the ability to be both diplomatic and fair. + Excellent proofreading, editing and copywriting skills. + Ability to keep up with a fast paced media environment that runs on a global breaking news cycle.
