Job Description
The Business Risk Manager provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities. **Key responsibilities:** The following are some of the specific activities expected of this role: + Supporting the the scoping, design, implementation of a holistic front office trade monitoring operating model to surveil both trade and the associated communications. + Help implement the strategy & controls to apply to the analytics/scenarios for uncovering insights and understanding of connection between events, trades and communications + Run reviews for assessing risks from the data sets to help manage and control the business and ensure escalation where required around events/scenarios and help identify emerging risks + Support head of Trade Monitoring with development of control & governance framework including maintenance of strategy and application inventory, new strategy and application approval, maintenance of related documents + Help run thematic deep dives around enhanced trade monitoring + Feed in to the required Conduct risk metric & alert functions + Work with head of trade monitoring for escalation and early warnings + **Knowledge, Experience & Skills:** Excellent understanding of the Markets business across the trade lifecycle, with specific in-depth knowledge of front office and control functions and associated infrastructure **.** + Able to demonstrate extensive experience of: + Technical understanding of traded products within the markets front office businesses + Experience & good understanding of trade monitoring and surveillance + Experience of working within or with the 1LoD + Experience in successfully developing, leading and completing significant business change + Experience of stakeholder engagement, collaboration and coordination + Good awareness and understanding of the key drivers, industry challenges and opportunities for trade monitoring + Excellent quantitative development experience preferably in financial market. + Experience of working in data base and data structures. + **Skills and Competencies -** Must be able to demonstrate extensive experience of: + Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills + Ability to understand the problem and implement suitable algorithms to obtain efficient results. + Team player with the ability to co-operative and collaborative working environment + Communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills to mobilize and motivate delivery + A practical and goal orientated focus with excellent verbal and written communication skills utilizing different media, to effectively communicate with management, clients and regulators + **Qualifications:** + 10+ years experience in Financial Services. + Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree; managerial experience + Minimum of 4 years' relevant Markets experience preferably in financial market or any quantitative role ----- Grade :All Job Level - All Job FunctionsAll Job Level - All Job Functions - GB ----- Time Type : ----- Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
