Job Description
: Business Division Fidelity's Equity Division is responsible for managing more than 129 diversified mutual funds and over 50 industry specific funds. Assets under management total more than $950 billion. The department consists of over 200 Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts and Research Associates. The International team consists of 24 Portfolio Managers and 73 Research Analysts and Research Associates focused on the developed and emerging international equity markets with total international assets under management of approximately $194 billion. Location * The Sector Trader position will report to the Co-Head of Global Cash Trading, based in London. Position & Responsibilities * Manage the daily execution of equity order flow across EMEA region, understanding the most efficient manner in which to source liquidity while limited market impact in the process. * Act a subject matter expert in both assigned sector coverage and the broader market as we provide internal investors with differentiated market color. * Engage with global Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts who invest in the EMEA region, acting as an extension of the investment process and adding value to their process. * Partner with internal Fidelity groups such as Technology, Compliance, Legal, Quantitative Analysis Teams and Operations Groups, all of whom are critical to the broader trading desk process. * Maintain effective external relationships including brokers and buy-side trading peers, as we ensure the desk receives a high quality of coverage and we keep a pulse on key themes in the industry. * Understand the various regulatory regimes across EMEA to ensure that FMR operates within the guidelines of each specific market. Experience and Qualifications * Candidate should hold a minimum of 3 years' experience as a buy-side or sell-side equity trader, well versed in both cash and electronic execution. * Possess a robust understanding of EMEA equity markets including market structure and regulatory rules across the region. * Strong communication skills and an ability to effectively engage with global investment professionals. * Employs a team-oriented approach, working with peers in a collaborative fashion in order to achieve the best outcome for shareholders. * Displays strong technology skills and an ability to utilize a variety of trading applications to achieve goals. * Exhibit a high level of integrity as a steward of Fidelity and our shareholders.
