Job Purpose: The Operational Assurance analyst will be responsible for providing support to the Operational Assurance Manager in the delivery of a cross programme financial support function. This role will provide holistic process coverage across our programmes to ensure successful management of portfolio spend in line with budget Key Accountabilities: Responsible for overseeing and coordinating ongoing activities which include as follows o Reporting monthly, quarterly and ad hoc programme financial results and labour capitalisation o Detailed variance analysis on Capex and Opex Portfolio spend, comparing PM Financial Trackers with Plan (Budgets/Forecasts) o Cost reconciliations between the Financial Systems (Oracle OPA and TEP) and the Financial Trackers, working with PMs to resolve variances o Working with Finance to ensure all journals and accruals are posted on time and all Project spend is accurately recorded, signed off and reported o PO to invoice tracking and issue resolution with the programme leads Setting programme financial best practice in collaboration with the Operations Manager and Finance team Assisting the Operations Manager in the successful delivery of the operations assurance function and providing coverage when required at senior stakeholder meetings About you 1. Background & Attributes You will need to come from a project financial management background and the key attributes you need are as follows: Strong communication skills with the ability to forge solid working relationships with an array of stakeholders, fostering collaboration and a desire to achieve a shared outcome High level of attention to detail, a genuine passion for getting things right first time, allied to a real focus on delivery Extremely numeric with a "feel" for when the numbers are right or wrong Flexible and pragmatic approach to work that can incorporate tactical fixes without losing sight of the strategic goals Inclusive team player who welcomes feedback and the involvement of others Essential skills, qualifications and experience: ACCA/CIMA/ACA Qualified or equivalent or qualified by experience. Deep understanding of multi-million pound project/programme financials Understanding of the rules and definitions around capex, opex (one time and ongoing), labour capitalisation Excellent spreadsheet skills and ability to create/maintain automatically updated data feeds and calculations Understanding of Finance as a function and experience of working with that to achieve a common goal Oracle ebusiness suite, Coupa and Markview knowledge desirable Previous experience of working in a technology environment is desirable
