Job Description

About the role: We are seeking to recruit a experienced Clinical Psychologist. We would like to recruit someone who has: * Experience of assessing, formulating and offering interventions to young people with complex mental health needs as described above. * The applicant would ideally have experience of formal therapeutic training post clinical doctorate; ideally in evidence-based interventions such as CBT for trauma and / or psychosis, and / or Dialectical Behaviour Therapy or Systemic Therapies. * The person would be experienced and confident to be able to offer complex neuropsychological assessment. Ideally, the applicant would have training in ADi, 3DI, DISCO or ADOS and be confident in assessing social communication difficulties. They would have a key role in disseminating complex psychological formulation to the wider team and networks, occasionally offering a consultative role. * The applicant would be working alongside the current 8b Clinical Psychologist in the team during a period of transition and there will be direct clinical supervision offered within the team. About the location: The LYPS team is located at 78 Lewisham Park, SE13 6QJ. Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2). We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; and substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Greenwich and Wandsworth. The Lewisham Young People's Service is a Multi-disciplinary Tier3 CAMHS Service that works with adolescents who present with severe and enduring mental health difficulties (including Psychosis, Bipolar Disorder, Severe Depression, Anxiety, Complex Trauma and Emotional Instability including self harm and suicidal behaviour). The team is composed of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, CAMHS Nurse including an Early Intervention in Psychosis worker, Family Therapist, Psychologist and CBT Therapist. Often the team are working with young people and family systems in the community where the young person may have complex needs including moderate to high levels of risk and / or safeguarding issues. The team offers intensive psychiatric and psychological support in an assertive model to support young people in the community, often to avoid or step down from hospital admission. We work closely alongside wider tier 3 CAMHS teams, specialist tier 4 services and inpatient settings as required. The team work in collaboration with complex networks around the child including social care, education, residential services and other healthcare providers. Many of the young people we work with have LAC experience and or / underlying complex neurodevelopmental conditions.
