Job Description

As an Internal Audit Associate, you will be supporting our highly experienced and well-respected Internal Audit team working with a broad range of clients covering both public and private sectors. By providing an unbiased and objective view to the highest level, your role will be supporting the Internal Audit team in providing clients with independent assurance with regards to the effectiveness of the organisation's risk management, governance, and internal control processes. Your time will be split between working at client premises, working in the office and working towards your professional IIA qualification. Please note we have opportunities available within both our Glasgow and Edinburgh office. About us Our ethos is about working in partnership with our clients. Requirements * Assist with the planning of internal audit work programmes * Perform internal audit fieldwork, reviewing exposure to risk and the effectiveness of the controls in place * Recommend improvements to systems and controls * Prepare internal audit reports which present audit findings in a clear, concise manner * Ensure sound knowledge of a client and its industry by researching background information * Build client relationships * Communicate with the client and the Internal Audit Team on any issues or findings * Develop and apply technical knowledge gained from studies and on the job experience Experience, Skills and Knowledge required * 2:1 or above in any degree discipline- please note an accountancy/finance related degree is not essential * Demonstrate strong analytical and research skills * Take ownership of assigned tasks * Able to organise and prioritise workload * Produce accurate and timely work * Able to build relationships * Apply active listening skills - ask questions when necessary * Actively seek to enhance own expertise and knowledge * Demonstrate drive and commitment to self-development * Professional approach to work and clients Benefits We reward our employees with extensive benefits, such as: * Competitive salary * Support of your IIA qualification * Opportunities for flexible working * Generous annual leave and bank holiday entitlement * Excellent working environment * Attractive bonus staff referral scheme * Company pension scheme
