Overview
Internal Audit opportunity with a leading public sector body in Edinburgh Your new company Hays Corporate Governance are recruiting on behalf of a leading not for profit business in Edinburgh as they appoint an Internal Auditor to the team. This is a fantastic organisation where the Internal Auditor will provide quality advise and guidance across the business and will work with a varied stakeholder base. Working in a customer focused and values based business, the opportunity for Internal Auditor would suit an experienced Accountant or Auditor within the public sector who enjoys a varied workload and interaction focusing on both operational & financial audit reviews. This is a permanent role offering £38,000 - £42,000 per annum with great benefits. Your new role The Internal Auditor will be part of a small and experienced team in an autonomous culture. You will be responsible for delivering a mix of operational and financial audits across the business with limited travel across sites and focus across adding value and supporting business managers. This role reports to the Head of Audit and supports the Audit committee and senior management team with a full view on the business and strategy. You will conduct ended audits from audit planning and review to assessing the effectiveness of internal controls and governance across the team. You will contribute views and ideas to facilitate best practice across the business and will actively promote solutions to solve problems. What you'll need to succeed The Internal Auditor will be passionate about solving problems and supporting governance frameworks to comply with regulations and to enhance performance. The Internal Auditor will be a fully qualified accountant with strong rapport building skills and ability to deliver impactful messages to the business. Having a natural awareness of risk and controls you will be responsible for making management aware of audit findings and will continually drive process improvement.
