MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE: * Manage all necessary controls and risk environment associated with Lloyd's regulatory reporting * Interface with Finance Shared Service organization as recipients of accounting, treasury, tax, investment and reporting services * Prepare, review & sign off on regulatory reporting & internal controls / timetables (including review of activities of offshore shared services) * Engagement with Lloyd's / regulators and other stakeholders across business * Ensure reporting / control environment remain fit for purpose and changes with requirements over time * Ensure compliance with all applicable Finance aspects of Lloyd's Minimum standards with respect to the Managing Agency KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Syndicate Finance responsibilities Ensuring sufficient data to prepare the financial and non-financial returns as managing agent to Lloyd's; Ensuring that processes and systems are updated where necessary to meet changing regulatory reporting requirements; Controlling the reconciliation of the AXIS ledger and AXIS data marts; Controlling the offshored reconciliations of key data used to drive reporting to Lloyd's; Oversee the preparation and review of financial returns for the submission to Lloyd's as managing agent; Develop and maintain capabilities to report under Solvency II, pillar 3 for the Syndicate; Ensuring compliance with Lloyd's coming into line timetable and that all Finance related tasks are completed and capital implications understood in a timely and efficient manner; Assist the FC of the Axis Managing Agent to develop and maintain accounting systems to include: statutory adjustments ledgers; data-mart (holding required additional granular level of detail not held in accounting ledger); and controlled environment/data mart where data can be enriched and allocated and mapped to provide appropriate level of detail for Lloyd's reporting. All other reporting systems used for the preparation and submission of regulatory reporting Changes to AXIS systems interfaces Control financial reporting * Control the production and review of all syndicate financial returns including: UK GAAP, YoA returns: - QMA/QMB, Solvency II returns - QSR/QAD/TPD/GQD/AAD/ASR/ASB, Quarterly overseas return: US-Situs/Can-Reg, Annual additional US Situs returns: F&P/NAIC/TRIA, Quarterly and annual Managing Agency Financial returns (QF1/AF1) Syndicate annual statutory accounts. All regulatory reporting as required for other UK entities * Production of Finance Committee and Board Paper * Review of Primary ledgers maintained in Dublin (reflecting US GAAP results and incorporating other syndicate information including Year of Account) and statutory adjustments within stat-adjustment ledger and reconciliations of data performed offshore. Ensure the integrity of the core numbers used in financial returns; * Maintain controls over key Syndicate specific processes such as cashbook preparation and LCA reconciliations; * Training and coaching of staff both on-shore and off-shore; * Maintenance and development of controls and process over the integrity of financial returns; * Development and maintenance of controls to ensure the correct appropriation of Syndicate funds with regard to Syndicate Trust deeds; * Working with FC to understand the implication of regulatory change and implementing the necessary process and system changes as appropriate / required; REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Key Personal Skills required: * Excellent oral and written communication skills, which included report writing and presentation skills, and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships; * Highly numerate which strong analytical and problem solving skills; * Ability to achieve results under pressure; * Good team player with the ability to contribute to the development of Axis's strategic plans; * Good negotiation skills; * Experience or familiarity of managing Offshored share service teams an advantage; Key Technical skills requires, knowledge & professional skills required: * Educated to degree level and the holder of a recognized professional qualification. * An internationally recognized accounting qualification (e.g. ACA) with experience levels commensurate with the responsibilities of the role, and a proven track record of achievement and progression in relevant roles in insurance accounting, budgeting, planning and financial reporting; * Significant Specialty Insurance experience in the London Market (including Lloyd's) including reporting requirements - QMA, QMB, QSR etc. * Experience i
